Day 1 - Delhi
Arrive Delhi, transfer to Hotel upon arrival. For those who arrive early there is an option to book the hotel from the previous night. Option to explore the capital of India – also known as mini India for it’s diverse communities.
Day 2 – Bharatpur [B]
Early this morning you transfer by train to Bharatpur (0750 / 1045 hrs). Upon arrival you will be transferred to Hotel Udai Vilas.
Afternoon visit Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary.
Day 3 – Bharatpur / Agra
Early morning visit Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary.
Late morning drive to Agra enroute visiting Fatehpur Sikri.
Afternoon visit Taj Mahal & Red Fort.
Day 4 – Agra / Khajuraho
Take the train morning train from Agra to Jhansi (2-3 hrs).
Upon arrival in Jhansi you will be transferred to Orchha (30 mins drive). Once the capital of Bundela, Orchha is now just a village, set amongst a complex of well preserved palaces and temples, but it is well worth a visit.
Afternoon drive to Khajuraho (4 hrs) and the night at hotel.
Days 5 & 6. Panna
After a morning of visiting the famous Chandela Dynasty temples it is only an hours drive to Panna National Park, one of India's many Tiger reserves, and transfer to Lodge where you spend the next two nights. This is one of India's least explored parks and is home not only to Tigers but also to both Gharial and Marsh Mugger Crocodiles. It is a pretty reserve with twisting rivers and spectacular scenery. The lodge consists of eight deluxe safari tents amongst fifteen hectares of private jungle.
Days 7 – Varanasi
After a morning at leisure you fly to Varanasi.
In the evening you can visit the Ghats to see the Aarti ceremony. It is a spectacular sight where dozens of priests offer huge flaming lamps to the river lighting the entire riverside with the glow of hundreds of lamps. It is a moving sight to watch hundreds of miniature lamps float along the river. The river front is thronged by thousands of devotees performing holy rituals.
Days 8 – Varanasi
Early morning take a sunrise boat ride on the river Ganges watching people doing their morning chorus and rituals on the bathing Ghats.
Morning excursion to Sarnath.
Day 9 – Varanasi / Lumbini
Morning drive to Nepalese Border town of Sonauli (7-8 hrs). Afternoon rest.
Days 10 – Lumbini / Pokhara
Early morning visit the Birth place of Lord Buddha. After breakfast drive to Pokhara (6-7 hrs) enroute visiting Tansen (Palpa).
Days 11 – Pokhara
Early morning visit Sarangkot to witness the sunrise over Annapurana Himalayas.
Rest of the day is at leisure to do optional activities (Microlite Flight, Kayaking or Boating on Fewa Lake, trek to Peack Pagoda).
Pokhara is a place remarkable natural beauty. The serenity of Lake Phewa and the magnificence of the fish-tailed summit of Machhapuchchre which rises 6,977 metres is a sight to behold and the valley surrounding Pokhara is home to thick forests, gushing rivers, emerald lakes, and of course, the world famous views of the Himalayas. You will have plenty of time for guided and self-guided exploration.
Day 12 – Pokhara / Chitwan
Morning drive to Chitwan (6 hrs).
Afternoon visit the Elephant Camp.
Day 13 – Chitwan
AM & PM Safaris to Chitwan National Park.
Day 14 – Chitwan / Kathmandu
Morning drive to Kathmandu (4-5 hrs drive); optional visit Manakamna Temple connected by one of Asia’s longest cable car journeys.
Day 15 - Kathmandu
Free before departure for onward destination.
